Could you spend hours sifting through the children’s section at your local bookstore? Do you have a passion for sharing great books? Would you like to work with a whole team tasked with getting great books into students’ hands?
We are looking for an intelligent, well-read person who is passionate about books, literacy, and multicultural issues to join our Program Design team. This entry-level position requires a “can-do” attitude and an eagerness to learn and grow.
Responsibilities:
- Revise, edit, and maintain independent reading libraries at a range of reading levels (K-12).
- Tailor/custom design collections to meet the needs of individual customers.
- Pitch in with the rest of the team on whatever needs to be done.
Requirements:

We are seeking a Bilingual (Spanish/English) educator with successful experience using 100 Book Challenge and/or Research Labs and/or ACTION 100 who is passionate about helping other teachers and principals implement these programs across the country. The desired candidate should live somewhere within the radius of Philadelphia that includes Baltimore, Washington, DC, and New York City. This is a position with lots of growth potential in a triple-bottom line, socially-responsible company.
Responsibilities:
- Act as an Executive Coach for principals to ensure effective program focus and implementation.
- Conduct workshops, demonstration lessons, and one-to-one coaching visits to support schools’ implementation of American Reading Company (ARC)’s Programs in both Spanish and English.
- Collaborate with other ARC Coaches and Program team to ensure that materials, methods, and programs in both English and Spanish are the best they can be.
Requirements:
- Language fluency for speaking, listening, reading, and writing in both Spanish and English
- Personal experience implementing 100 Book Challenge and/or Research Labs and/or ACTION 100.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, e.g., experience as a teacher leader or coach
- Commitment to life-long learning and development
- Flexibility and ability to adjust priorities when necessary
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with principals, teachers, and co-workers in both English and Spanish

The Program Consultant supports our schools and districts with the implementation of our programs. By teaming up with our sales force and using your territory expertise, you will expand our reading programs into neighboring schools and districts. This is a position with lots of growth potential in a triple bottom line, socially responsible company. It is a great job for someone with insides sales or sales support experience with a passion for reading or an experienced educator with some business background.
Responsibilities:
- Use your knowledge and expertise of your territory to implement expansion opportunities in existing schools/districts as well as nearby schools/districts
- Proactively reach out to schools/districts regarding program implementation, pricing issues and proposal follow-up
Check in with top customers on a quarterly basis regarding professional development, program implementation and fidelity, and expansion opportunities
- Formulate and carry out strategies in conjunction with sales executives to expand into existing schools, districts and territories including invitationals, colloquies, and special events
- Work as a team member with various departments within the company to move sales forward

Job Description:

We need experienced educational sales account managers, or experienced elementary/middle school teachers or literacy advocates with an interest in business, to sell our reading programs into school districts within exclusive territories throughout the county. This is a position with lots of growth potential in a triple bottom line, socially responsible company. Experience interacting with district-level staff and school principals is a must.
Responsibilities:
- Cultivate and close sales leads in new school districts within an exclusive territory.
- Expand sales into new schools of existing school districts/customers within the territory.
- Maintain a constant presence in district/customer offices and in new prospective customer‘s offices.
Skills:
- College degree (BA/BS).
