African American Text Set Literary Collections
These collections are carefully selected to reflect the breadth and diversity of African American literature including poetry, biography, fiction, and plays. Each collection includes both classic and up-to-the-minute, contemporary literature that is both content and reading-level appropriate for the specified grade range.
Each Text Set is available as a set of 100 or 150 titles, and includes Skills Cards for 30 students to support content learning. African American Text Set Literary Collections are available from grades K through 12.

African American Literature I
Recommended for Grades K–5
From Eloise Greenfield to Brian Pinkney, these elementary appropriate picture books and chapter books celebrate the best of African American literature for children.
African American Literature II

African American History 1
Recommended for Grades 4 and up
From the first Africans to step foot on the North American continent to the fight for emancipation, this collection covers the major topics of African American history through Reconstruction. Topics covered include the Middle Passage, the experiences of free African Americans, the history of slavery, Abolition, the Civil War, and Reconstruction.
African American History 2
