Integrated tools ensure consistent program implementation
The Leveling System is seamlessly integrated throughout the 100 Book Challenge program. Every component, every instruction technique, every assessment tool utilizes the Leveling System. The integrated tools ensure consistency in assessment and accountability across students, classrooms, schools, districts and states.
Great Books: All books are color-coded according to the Leveling System so that it’s easy for students to locate books at their independent reading level. All books receive a colored sticker on the spine using a 100 Book Challenge sticker. Every basket collection provides students with a choice of 30-books at their “just right” reading level.
The books from American Reading Company are hand-picked from more than 50,000 titles published by 250 vendors in both the reading and trade industry.
Skills Cards: Tailored to the needs of students at each level of reading acquisition and color-coded to the leveling system, 100 Book Challenge Skills Cards help teachers and parents recognize a student’s level and teach the appropriate reading strategies for that level. The Skills Cards provide clear directions for what each student must practice in order to move up to the next level.
KidPACE: KidPACE is the essential online assessment tool that allows educators and parents to quickly and easily track student progress. All metrics, reports, charts and graphs are presented in the context of the leveling system. The entire community is able to use the same language in assessing results and monitoring progress -- a language that is tied directly to national standards as set forth by No Child Left Behind.
