Monitoring Progress

Monitoring progress requires just 3 key metrics

Teachers closely monitor and regularly report three key metrics that measure student effort and success:

1. Independent Reading Level
2. Volume of Reading Practice, specifically the amount of time invested in Independent Reading to date (measured in 15-minute increments called “Steps”)
3. Degree of Reading at Home, specifically whether or not the child is receiving at least 3 Logsheet signatures from home per week.

Cumulative Data Sheet

These metrics are gathered by teachers on an ongoing basis and are reported to Principals once per marking period, and are used to assess progress over time. 100 Book Challenge provides automated tools to assist the entire community in assessing results and maintaining accountability at all levels.
