Young Readers Take Challenge
Camden, N.J.—Camden City Public Schools on Monday unveiled a $2 million reading initiative for all 8,000 of its kindergarten through eighth-grade students.
100 Book Challenge requires students to read at least 200 hours during the school year—inside and outside the classroom—with teachers, mentors, parents, and guardians tracking their progress daily. This push is the district’s largest attempt to bolster literacy and reading comprehension of the majority of students.
