A Message from our CEO Dear Administrators: American Reading Company’s mission is for every child in America to read on or above grade level. Created by teachers, curriculum specialists and literacy activists, all of our programs are grounded in scientifically-based research and reflect our fundamental philosophy that reading is more than a set of skills, it’s a lifestyle. The entire team at American Reading Company aims to continually deliver quality products and services that are both aligned to specific curriculum requirements and that result in meaningful educational experiences for all students, teachers, parents and administrators in your school community. 100 Book Challenge is designed to supplement any core reading program and/or to satisfy the independent reading block of a balanced literacy curriculum. The program is available for students in Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade. 100 Book Challenge is widely used to address the needs of target populations, including Early Literacy, After-School, Summer-School, Special Education, English Language Learners (ELL) and Reading Interventions. The entire 100 Book Challenge system is also available in Spanish, (using Spanish books and Spanish support materials), which may be used for dual-language and/or English-Spanish bilingual classrooms. Finally, American Reading Company’s thematic and genre collections support content area learning in science, social studies and language arts. The core value shared by the employees of American Reading Company is that our strength is in our diversity.
